Statement of Intent

Label C:      Statement of Intent I have sent another guidance sheet for this. Quite simply, this is where you post your plan of what you are going to produce, ‘Statement of Intent’. Your Statement of Intent has to mention / cover the four areas of the theoretical framework, Audience, Media Language, Institution, Representation. It needs to be between 300 & 350 words. You will do a draft version once you have established your idea and have started to create the adverts / posters. Once your work is near completion, we can then revisit your ‘Statement of Intent’ and produce the final version. Remember. Your ‘Statement of Intent’ only needs to be approximately 350 words, so if you can get it over 300 words then that will be fine.   Below are the areas that you have to discuss / cover. Reality Television Analysis

Reality Television Analysis: Reality TV accumulates millions of views ranging from lifestyle to drama. It is estimated that every 4 in 10 people will watch a form of reality TV. The viewing age is usually ranged between 25-34 although there are signs of younger as well as older audiences also watching reality TV shows at some point. Although the audience usually depends on the content and cast of a reality TV show and many audiences are influenced by said content and cast. For example, I’m a celebrity has millions of viewers every season and they always change the challenges and cast in order to promote increasing interest in the show as it progresses. Its also draws in the younger audiences gaining the interest before they grow up and start watching it for themselves. The top 5 reality TV shows of 2019 were the masked singer, Lindsay Lohans beach club, dating around, Mexican dynasties and love island. 

Analysis of Three Reality TV posters

This is a poster for the E4 reality television programme called “Derry Girls”. In this poster they have used a character style poster which shows the 3 main characters, I would also say that this poster is a teaser poster as it contains a picture of the stars and the name of the series and it intrigues viewers as there is little information, but it whets their appetite. It shows a rough indication of the type of series it is, which is rather comical and teenaged based as the characters are wearing school uniform and their facial expressions are exaggerated. In the poster there are 3 worried looking female characters dressed in school uniform. The background is a dated style kitchen, with the dinner table across the bottom of the poster which is cluttered with food, tea pots and mugs, and random objects.
